Pixii uses the Ubuntu font family from Google as its main typeface, available for download here. For Microsoft applications, Arial is used as a substitute.
The font family consists of four weights and their italic versions. Pixii does not use the medium weight. Bold and light versions are used primarily. Italic is only to be used in editorial copy.
The preferred type color combination is black on white or white on black. Electric blue (#59CAE8) can be used on special occasions and should be used minimally. Refer to the Pixii color guide for further details.
Pixii uses sentence case for headlines, meaning only the first letter is capitalized. All other words start with lower case unless they are proper nouns. Secondary headlines should be 70% of the main headline size.
Intro text is 50% of the headline size.
Taglines are in all capital letters and are 44% of the headline size.
Body copy uses Ubuntu Light at 30% of the headline size. Prioritize readability with a minimum of 7pt for print and 9pt for screens.
The copy is aligned left. The overall perception should be a well organised and clearly structured copy.
The text box should have clear spaces in all directions and text should not be adjacent to objects.
Line spacing should be 50% more than the font size. For example, if the font size is 18pt, the line spacing should be 27pt (18 + 18/2).
Typography should always remain clear, legible, and readable. Any hierarchy is intended to be functional in conveying the message and supporting the overall brand identity. Avoid the following misuses to maintain consistency:
